Rental of Hired Items

1.1 The rental period is defined in the package details or as otherwise agreed upon for specific dates between the customer and Crates for Hire.

1.2 The rental period commences from the date the customer receives the hired goods and continues until the day the hired goods are retrieved by Crates for Hire from the customer.

1.3 Upon delivery, the customer assumes responsibility for the hired goods at the designated delivery address provided by the customer.

1.4 The customer shall be liable for any loss or damage to the hired goods throughout the rental period.

1.5 Should the customer wish to extend the rental period beyond the initially agreed hire duration, additional charges will be incurred.

Additional Fees

2.1 There is no requirement for the customer to pay a bond for any hired goods rented from Crates for Hire.

2.2 The customer consents that Crates for Hire may charge the customer’s credit card used during booking for any cancellation fee, product replacement charge, late fee, cleaning fee and/or any other fee or charge incurred by the customer.

2.3 Crates for Hire will notify the customer prior to processing any additional fees.

2.4 In the scenario where a customer’s credit card cannot be charged for any additional fee, the customer is obliged to pay the outstanding balance to Crates for Hire within 7 working days from the day such fee or charge is incurred.

Customer Obligations

3.1 Upon receiving the hired goods, the customer pledges to store the hired goods securely throughout the rental period.

3.2 The hired goods should be utilised in a manner that avoids causing damage to them, including overloading, dropping/throwing, writing on (except attached labels), affixing additional labels, or excessive soiling including oils, paints, solvents, or toxic substances.

3.3 At the conclusion of the rental period, the hired goods must be securely stored in a dry, weather-protected area awaiting collection by Crates for Hire.

3.4 The customer is accountable for all loss, theft, and/or damage to or caused by the hired goods while in their possession.

3.5 All hired goods must be accounted for and ready for collection on the agreed rental period end date. A fee of $50 inc gst will be charged to the customer if Crates for Hire needs to arrange an additional collection trip.

3.6 The customer or their nominated person must be present at the agreed pick-up date/time to facilitate Crates for Hire’s access to retrieve the hired goods. A fee of $50 inc gst will be charged for an additional collection trip if necessary.

3.7 Crates for Hire requires at least 48 hours notice from the customer if there’s a need to extend the rental period end date.

Orders

4.1 Crates for Hire will process orders via the website Orders page for hired goods and packaging goods, providing the customer’s address falls within the free Taranaki urban area and valid payment is received.

4.2 Orders should be placed via the online service or if special circumstances apply, by phone/email, subject to stock availability and upon customer’s acceptance of the quoted price and/or payment received.

4.3 If for any reason Crates for Hire cannot fulfil an order, the customer will be contacted and any payment made will be refunded within 48 hours of order placement and payment receipt.

Payment

5.1 A successful credit card payment is mandatory to complete an online order.

5.2 For invoiced hires and/or additional fees, Crates for Hire will accept payment through direct internet transfer.

5.3 Cash payment on delivery is only acceptable by prior arrangement.

Products

6.1 Upon delivery, the Customer is obliged to inspect the hired goods and acknowledge that they are received in good, usable condition and are suitable for their intended use.

6.2 All packages include  delivery to Taranaki urban area. Crates for Hire may, at its discretion, agree to deliver outside these areas by prior arrangement, which could incur extra delivery costs.

6.3 A re-delivery fee of $50.00 inc gst will be charged if neither the customer nor a person nominated by the customer is available at the designated delivery location at the scheduled delivery (or pick up) time.

Cancellation

7.1 Orders can be cancelled by the customer free of charge up to 48 hours prior to the scheduled delivery date, by emailing [email protected] or phoning us using the details on the contact page.

7.2 A cancellation fee of $50.00 inc gst will be charged for any cancellation made within 48 hours of the scheduled delivery date.

Return of Hired Items

8.1 All hired goods must be ready for collection at the end of the rental period.

8.2 To extend the rental period beyond the initially agreed duration, the customer must contact Crates for Hire at least 48 hours prior, to arrange an extension, subject to additional charges.

8.3 All returned hired goods MUST be in an undamaged condition, dry, and cleared of any debris or excessive soiling.

8.4 Hired goods returned in a broken, cracked, written on, excessively marked, labeled, excessively soiled or otherwise damaged condition will be deemed unacceptable.

8.5 A cleaning charge of $5.00 inc gst per crate will apply for any hired goods returned in a non-clean and unacceptable condition.

8.6 A replacement charge of $50.00 inc gst will apply for every crate not returned at the end of the hire period, or returned in a condition that cannot be restored to a good usable condition by cleaning.

8.7 A replacement charge of $250.00 inc gst will apply for every dolly cart not returned at the end of the hire period, or returned in a condition that cannot be restored to a good usable condition by minor repairs.

Price

All prices are stipulated in New Zealand dollars (NZ$) and include Goods and Services Tax (GST).
